Real Estate Professional Associations

  • Certified Commercial Investment Member: Confers the CCIM designation and is an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). The CCIM movement began more than 40 years ago with commercial real estate practitioners who wanted to elevate their business practices through education and networking.
  • Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM): Source for education, resources, information and membership for real estate management professionals for more than 70 years. An affiliate of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, IREM is the only professional real estate management association serving both the multi-family and commercial real estate sectors.
  • International Council of Shopping Centers: Global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its 54,000 members in the U.S., Canada and more than 80 other countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers and other professionals as well as academics and public officials. As the global industry trade association, ICSC links with more than 25 national and regional shopping center councils throughout the world.
  • Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA): Primary source of information on office building development, leasing, building operating costs, energy consumption patterns, local and national building codes, legislation, occupancy statistics and technological developments.
  • Institute of Facility Management (IFMA): Professional association for facility management, supporting approximately 18,000 members. The Association’s members are represented in 125 chapters, 16 councils and one Special Interest Group (SIG), in 56 countries worldwide. Globally, IFMA certifies facility managers, conducts research, provides educational programs, recognizes facility management degree and certificate programs and produces World Workplace, the largest facility management-related conference and exposition.
  • CoreNet Global: Association for corporate real estate and related professionals. As a global learning organization, it is the industry thought and opinion leader. CoreNet Global is the only group that convenes the entire industry. Programs and services are designed to meet the business needs of members’ companies and the career needs of individual members.
  • Wisconsin Commercial Real Estate Women: Nonprofit networking organization formed in 1998 to recognize the professional achievements of females in all facets of the commercial real estate industry.
  • Appraisal Institute: International membership association of professional real estate appraisers, with more than 18,000 members and 99 chapters throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. Its mission is to support and advance its members as the choice for real estate solutions and uphold professional credentials, standards of professional practice and ethics consistent with the public good.
  • National Association of Industrial and Office Properties: Represent the interests of developers and owners of industrial, office and related commercial real estate throughout North America. NAIOP provides communication, networking and business opportunities for all real estate related professionals; provides a forum for continuing education; and promotes effective public policy, through its grassroots network, to create, protect and enhance property values.
  • National Real Estate Investor: Leading authority on commercial real estate trends. The magazine’s readers represent a cross-section of disciplines — brokerage, construction, owner/development, finance/investment, property management, corporate real estate, and real estate services. No other publication provides as much independent research on a variety of topics that pertain to the office, industrial, retail, hotel and multifamily markets as National Real Estate Investor.
